time has come

well the time is here.
i got the e mail with my flight information.i fly on the 19th AUGUST.(sorry guys,made a mistake)
the only down side,is,i fly to glasgow first,then sit up there for a few hours,then off to calgary.
i was thinking of phoning my cousin up,who lives in glasgow,and get him to meet me at the airport.then i decided agains it.i know what i would end up like,if we ended up in the bar.so i will sit and read or something.
looking forward to it,actually working and hopefully earning regular money........

going early

had a phone call the other night."would you like to come over early".i had to say,can i think about it and get back to you.i had to weigh up the money and of course talk to my better half.
so,today,i phoned back with a yes.so im flying on the 20th or 21st august.be glad to get there and start working and earning some money.
the situation here,workwise is getting dire,more people getting layed off,my local pub is beginning to look like the dole office.
i just hope everything goes well for me over there.fingers crossed!

temporary job

i have been doing some work on the tankers carrying milk.im covering for a lad thats having an operation and it come at a good time as i wasnt getting much work on the agency,and it will take me up to the end of august,which is perfect.the only down side to it is that i have to be up at 2am,and im not getting home sometimes till 18 or 1900,so its a long day.its the first time ive driven a tanker and its still a weird sensation when the milk is swilling about.
it is though,making my weeks go quicker,so september will soon be here......

21st may

eugenie phoned me today.
my LMO is sorted.in fact everything is sorted.just got to wait until 17th september now....

looks like i got me some good luck for a change.
a guy that worked with me at asda,wrang me today asking if i wanted to cover for a guy thats having an operation.no problem i said.so i rang his boss,who said come up tomorrow,ill meet you,show you whats what and you can start monday/tuesday.its tanker work,delivering milk,for 3 months.that is just handy,as i come out to canada in september.
i was going to a friends 50th tonight.i said was,because i just got a phone call to say a driver has phoned in sick and did i fancy being thrown in at the deepend and covering for him in the morning.no problem.then he told me the time,bloody hell.he wants me there for 4am,so ill have to leave home at 3.
cant complain really as the amount of work ive been getting is very little,so,bring it on!

too good to be true

i thought things were looking a little too good.
i got a call from the agency saying do you want a weeks work?(do fish pee in water)
i did sunday night,tuesday day,wednesday day.got a call thursday,just as i was about too leave.cancelled.great!!,but ive got you one friday(we will see!)
before this week,ive done 3 days in 3 weeks.
roll on september.
didnt think it would be this tough getting work,but hey ho

on a downer

feeling a little pissed off at the minute.
ive done two days work in two weeks.there just isnt anything going,ive actually applied too work in a warehouse,just to get some money.there is some jobs about,but they are only paying the minimum wage.just because there is a lot of un-employment,it doesnt give these numpties the oppertunity to take the piss out out of proffessional drivers.we are good at what we do,so they should pay us for what we know and do,not what these mickey mouse companies want us to do!!!!!!!!!
canada is still a distance away,so i just need to do some thing to make the time come quicker.

8th april

got a nice suprise when i got in this morning.my passport with shiny new visa.thats what i call quick.i only had the interview on monday.nice one!!!!!!!!!!

7th april

i just got an e-mail.ive to bloody wait until september before i can go over.my course is booked for the 19th.5 bloody months away.i didnt think it would be that long.so,it looks like i wont get to do any driving in the summer months,its straight in at the deep end and the snowgutted would be an under statement

29th march

well the time is almost here.i go to the us embassy in london next sunday for my appointment monday morning.just checking through everything,dont want to forget anything,once im on the train,its too late.i think ive got everything crossed,hoping they give me the visa.then,i just hope it doesnt take too long for my LMO.it seems ages ago that i applied for the job.it is through no-ones fault but my own,for being a dick head when i was younger.it is true what people say,your past will always catch up with you.well mine certainly did.i hope this is my last hurdle too jump now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
